28 highways

  • ohio civil war map28 Scenic O-H-I-O Byways in 63 Days

Ohio is unique. Unlike any other state, our flag is a burgee. This attractive banner has seventeen stars; as we were fourth to join the club after the original thirteen. I’m thinking Ohio selected a nautical flag because the epic “Battle of Lake Erie”.

“We have met the enemy and they are ours. Two ships, two brigs, one schooner and one sloop”, decried Oliver Hazard Perry. Take state route 357; it’s one of Ohio’s shortest highways.

…. and I digress.

Ohio is also unique as it has hundreds of cities and towns within close proximity. Your assignment, if you wish to accept it, is to travel the 28 scenic byways of Ohio. Disregard the 63 day limit as I just thought it looked good in print.

I’m hosting a contest to give Columbus a new slogan. My original thought was that anyone of one hundred college students could do better than the following. Then I started a David Letterman “Top Ten” skit and it got raunchy and jaded.

These came off the top of my head. You can do better. Please post your best recommendations below. (win beer & be famous)
